What should I order?
If you would like to have services performed professionally on any iPod parts (e.g. hard drive; click-wheel; hold switch; etc.) please order the Express Diagnostic services. However, if you need an iPod screen repair please order our 24 hour Screen Repair service. All professional repairs are done with Apple Original iPod Parts.
If you would prefer to perform the repair yourself, you can purchase the Apple Original iPod Parts you are after in the iPod Parts section of our website.
How much will it cost?
Nearly all iPod problems can be fixed. Depending on the iPod repair needed, the cost can vary from $49 to $199.
What does "Express Diagnostics" include?
When you order Express Diagnostic services you get free shipping to our repair center. You also get a free diagnostic test and we send a diagnostic quote detailing the iPod problem and the iPod repair cost. ALL FOR FREE!
Where is my shipping label?
If your pre-paid UPS shipping label for your iPod repairs seems to have gone missing, there are a few things that may have occurred;
A) Some browsers place the emails containing the shipping label into a “junk” mail box and/or bulk mail boxes, check these boxes first.
B) There may have been an error when we attempted to generate your shipping label because of a problem with your order information. Please access your account information to make sure that all of the information you put in was correct.
If you have missplaced your label you may recover it here.
If none of these steps seem to work please feel free to contact us at info@ipodmechanic.com and we will send you a new shipping label.
How many iPods do you guys repair?
iPod Mechanic repairs several hundred iPods a week and the number continues to grow everyday.
What should I send in?
Send only the iPod or iPods that need repairs. PLEASE DO NOT SEND ACCESSORIES. iPod Mechanic is not responsible for the loss of accessories sent with an order. Also, please do not send your iPod in the original box if you are interested in having it returned. iPod Mechanic will dispose of all packing materials used to send the customers iPod to the repair center.
Should I back up the music on my iPod before sending it in?
While it is not necessary to back up the music on your iPod when you send it in for iPod repairs, it is always a good idea to have a copy of the music. There is always a slim chance with any iPod repairs that the music could be lost during the repairs. iPod repairs which include the iPod hard drive are prone to this.
Can you save the music on my iPod hard drive?
Occasionally the files on an iPod hard drive can be removed. If you would like iPod Mechanic to attempt to remove the files from your iPod hard drive please request “extraction service” in the order comments at checkout.
What if I want to sell my iPod?
iPod Mechanic will buy your iPod from you. Please go to the Sell your iPod page on our website. Unfortunately, this option is reserved for customers who have not already sent their unit in for iPod repairs. If you have sent your iPod in for iPod repairs, and would still like to sell your iPod, please email a member of the iPod Mechanic support staff at info@ipodmechanic.com to receive an offer.
How long will repairs take?
iPod repair time varies depending on the iPod problems. iPod repairs generally take between 24 and 48 hours to complete before being shipped out.
Are you guys going to charge me twice for shipping?
The diagnostic quote usually shows a charge for shipping, if you have already paid for return shipping this means nothing. It is just a way for us to keep track of how much customers are paying and the total cost of the repairs. If you have not paid for shipping than it is the amount you will be charged the amount seen on the quote.
How long is the warranty on my iPod?
Our standard warranty period is 180 days for repairs unless you have upgraded to a longer warranty period or have been told by a member of the iPod Mechanic staff that you have a different warranty period.
What if I don't want it repaired?
If you would prefer not to have the iPod repair for which you were quoted performed, please email us with your request at info@ipodmechanic.com.
When do I have to decide if I want to repair my iPod?
Once you have received your diagnostic quote you have 60 days to approve your iPod repairs before your iPod is considered to be abandoned. See our terms and conditions.
What if I decide I don't want repairs done and want my iPod returned?
If you choose not to have your iPod repairs performed and would like to have your iPod returned, you will have to pay for return shipping and will be charged a small termination fee, for more information see our term and conditions.
Can I get a refund?
